How to Install Minecraft Datapacks

Datapacks can add mechanics, recipes, functions, and world behavior without a full mod loader. Install them carefully and only from trusted sources.

Before you start

Check the Minecraft version listed by the datapack. A pack designed for one version may not work correctly on another version.

Singleplayer installation

• Download the datapack file without unzipping it unless instructions say otherwise.
• Open Minecraft, select your world, and open the world folder.
• Place the datapack zip inside the datapacks folder.
• Run /reload after opening the world.
• Use /datapack list to confirm it loaded.

Server installation

For servers, upload the datapack to the world datapacks folder using your host panel or file access. Restart or run reload only when it is safe for players.

Safety note
